Marlon Valle
Marlon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Real Estate & Metropolitan Development from Baruch College. He currently works for a private developer as a project manager, writing proposals for new commercial developments throughout New England.
In addition, he has dedicated a large portion of his career to working with non-profit organizations that help to empower immigrant communities. Throughout college, he worked closely with non-profits helping to raise funds. He was the development director for Latin American Worker’s Project and remains active with them on a consulting basis helping to raise funds.
Immigrating to New York from Ecuador with his parents at a very young age, Marlon’s involvement in dance was unexpected yet unavoidable. His love for music began at home, but became deeply rooted while working with community based organizations. He learned to appreciate and became deeply connected to his Latin roots while participating in cultural events that exposed him to the dances and music of so many different countries. No music or dance caught his attention as much as Salsa did though. He was enamored by the sound of the music and the sensuality of the dance.
His intrigue continued to build and he soon found himself walking into The Lorenz Latin Dance Studio in Queens to take some lessons in the summer of 2006. After taking classes for about a year, he was asked to be on the semi-pro team, Mambo Clasico, performing at different venues such as the New York Salsa Congress, The Boston Salsa Congress, The Washington D.C. Congress, The Connecticut Salsa Festival as well as other community and charitable events. In the summer of 2008, he was asked to be part of the professional team and also became a private instructor.
Currently, Marlon is a member of Baila Society’s BASo Alto. He has the privilege to be under the direction of world-renowned dancers and directors Ahtoy Wonpat-Borja and Daniel Enskat.
