Salsa turn patterns & technique for ladies and men
The Partnerwork Technique area of the website will take you from your first basic step all the way to a pre-professional level (if you want to and practice practice practice). It addresses three major aspects of social dancing: communication, style, and spinning technique.
Salsa in 7 Days teaches you seven basic Salsa figures that will get you the dance floor immediately.
Beginner Patterns provide you with foundation to master all subsequent levels.
Intermediate Patterns will introduce different handholds, additional spins, and new angles to add a creative component and personal style to your dancing.
Advanced Patterns work with multiple spins into half and quarter angles, and unusual directional changes using body weight transfers.
Pre-Pro Patterns will prepare you for performing on stage around the world.

NY Salsa Beginner Pattern 12 includes a cross body lead into a walk around with a turn for the leader, followed by a hand toss into a cross body lead with a turn and a swing, to finish with a basket variation of trading places, taught by Ahtoy and BASo repertory dancer Geraldo Caba
This somewhat challenging Intermediate Pattern starts with a hook turn and "waiter" CBL for the leader into a hammerlock throw, followed by traveling turns for both partners into a touch & go turn preparation. It continues with a pullback and turn for the leader to finish with a scoop whip and hand toss into another whip and swing.
NY Salsa Advanced Pattern 14 features a variation of a BASo Signature move, the "cuddle snap", and includes a creative Cross Body Lead Scoop with multiple turns for the leader, stationary turns with a scoop, the cuddle snap, and a CBL with right turns followed by left turns for the leader on 5,6,7.
This NY Salsa Pre-Pro Pattern, Number 17, combines a selection of BASo Signature Series figures, such as the Snazzy Jazz and the Touch & Tunnel. Have fun
The "Double Wrap", another BASo Signature move, starts from an open break, then goes into a hammerlock movement with two stationary turns into a wrap and pull back with trading places, all in one bar.
