5-WEEK BEGINNER SALSA WORKSHOP, BEGINS JUNE 25, 2011

From Zero to Salsa
5-week Beginner Salsa Workshop Begins June 25, 2011

While salsa is sweeping across the globe, there is no better place to learn it than New York City, considered by many to be the “mecca” of salsa.  This 5 week course is designed for the absolute beginner who wants to learn enough Salsa to hit the dance floor.

I have been a BASo student for two years now and highly recommend them to anyone at any level. It’s rare to find a group of dancers who are both excellent at performing and teaching. What sets them apart from most schools is their organized method of instruction and the vast number of qualified instructors they develop.

Each class will start with exercises to get you moving comfortably and confidently to Latin rhythms, transitioning into fundamental salsa footwork, called “shines” in New York City. Taking a unique approach to partnerwork, this class features BAILA Society’s “Salsa 7”, the seven most popular figures in their most basic form and the foundation of partnerwork in New York Style Salsa.

Students will also learn the history and culture of salsa music and dance as well as salsa etiquette, floorcraft, and partner safety, giving you everything you need to get out on the dance floor! No partners required.

Each workshop consists of 5 consecutive Saturday classes. Students may take more than one workshop (i.e. Ballet followed by Tap, etc.), but cannot switch or mix between workshop classes.
